Resize a Photo to 12×12 Without Cropping
Making a rectangular photo square normally means throwing away a third of it. Upload your photo below and we'll extend the scene outward until it's a true 12×12 square, keeping everything that was in the original.

Why 12×12 Cuts Things Off
Square is the least forgiving shape there is, because every photo you own is a rectangle. Cropping a portrait to a square removes the top and bottom; cropping a landscape removes both sides, and with them whoever was standing at the edge. Extending sideways is the only approach that keeps the full picture, which matters most for group shots and scrapbook layouts where the composition is the point.
Instead of trimming your photo down to the shape, we generate more of the scene around it until it fits — and sharpen the whole image in the same pass.

12×12 Questions
How do I make a photo square without cropping it?
Extend it rather than cut it. We generate more of the existing scene along the short sides until the image is square, so nothing that was in the original is lost.
Does this work for any square size?
Yes. 12×12 is prefilled here, but you can type any square dimensions after uploading — 8×8, 10×10 or a pixel size for the web.
