Extend a Photo Instead of Cropping It
An AI image extender adds scene where your photo runs out. Tell us the shape you need and the picture grows outward to fill it — the sky keeps going, the wall keeps going, nobody loses an arm at the edge.

Cropping Solves the Shape by Throwing Away the Photo
Every shape mismatch has the same three answers. Crop, and the edges go. Stretch, and everyone gets wider. Letterbox, and you frame your photo in empty bars. All three treat the picture as the problem.
Extending treats the shape as the problem instead. The model reads what is already at the edges — the sky, the grass, the pattern of the wall — and continues it outward until the image is the proportions you asked for. Your photo stays whole and simply sits inside a bigger one.
When people reach for it
- A portrait photo that has to become a widescreen wallpaper or slide background
- A landscape shot going into a 4:5 Instagram post without losing the sides
- A photo that has to fill a frame or print shape it was never taken for
- Product shots that need empty margin for a headline, price or logo
- Screenshots and artwork that need breathing room around the subject
- A group photo where the person on the end is already touching the edge
Three Steps, No Account
Upload the photo
One image or up to five. No account, and nothing to install.
Type the shape you want
Any dimensions, in inches or pixels. The shape is whatever you enter, not a fixed list of presets.
Get it back extended
About twenty seconds per image. The scene grows outward to fill the new shape, and the whole image is sharpened on the way.
Image Extending Questions
What is AI outpainting?
Generating new image content beyond the edges of a photo, so the picture gets bigger without anything being cut off. It's the opposite of cropping: instead of removing the parts that don't fit the shape you need, it invents more of the same scene until the photo fits. Outpainting, generative fill and image extending all describe the same operation.
How is this different from just resizing?
Resizing changes how big the image is; it can't change its proportions without stretching people sideways or trimming the edges off. Extending changes the shape by adding scene, so a 3:4 phone photo can become a 16:9 wallpaper with the original photo intact inside it.
How far can a photo be extended?
Modest extensions look best. Adding a third again to one dimension is usually indistinguishable; doubling it asks the model to invent more than it can infer, and continuous backgrounds — sky, grass, walls, studio backdrops — stretch much further than busy ones. If the result isn't convincing, extend less and crop the remainder.
What does it do badly?
Anything where the truth matters at the edge. It won't correctly guess a face that's half out of frame, finish text or a logo that runs off the side, or reconstruct architecture with strong straight lines through the seam. It fills the new area plausibly, not factually, which is fine for a background and wrong for evidence.
Is the original photo changed?
The original pixels stay as they are; the new area is added around them. The whole image is upscaled and sharpened in the same pass, so the result is a larger, cleaner file with your photo still at the middle of it.
Do I need an account?
No. Upload, pick a shape, pay for that order, and the result appears on screen and arrives by email as a private link.
